Abandoned Cart Recovery System
Recover lost sales with Email, SMS, and retargeting.
INTRODUCTION
About 70% of users on e-commerce sites abandon their carts. If you don't have an automated system to reach this audience, you are leaving a lot of money on the table.
1. Abandoned Cart Emails (0 - 24 Hours)
- 1st Hour: Just a reminder. "Items were forgotten in your cart!"
- 12th Hour: Social proof. Add comments and reviews like "Our other customers also liked product X very much".
- 24th Hour: Last chance. Create a sense of urgency (FOMO) with a small discount or free shipping.
2. SMS Integration
Email open rates may drop, but SMS are usually read within 5 minutes.
- Send a %X discount code and a shortened link that goes direct to cart.
3. Retargeting Ads
Chase the abandoning user on Instagram / Facebook for 3 days:
- Set up dynamic ads presenting the exact photo of the product they clicked as a "Carousel".
[!NOTE] Do not send email and SMS at the same time. To avoid overwhelming the user, you can split the 1st hour for email and the 4th hour for SMS.
